Why the Tech World Needs More Artists

As someone who stands on the borders between the art world and the tech world, I've thought a lot about this question:
How can the tech world benefit from more artists?

Artists + The Future

If society were a large group walking towards the ocean (aka the future), I see artists standing at the front seeing past the present moment and turning around to show everyone behind them the way forward.

In the ideal world, artists have the support to ponder for long periods of time, to create spaces for dialogue, and to present what they've been thinking about to the public.

Contemplation + Design

When urban planners were first designing the spaces we inhabit in a city, they took contemporary issues into account. For example, city parks were created to address social/health concerns and to provide easy access to recreational spaces. When product designers conceptualized tech spaces for social exchange, did they consider the health of their users? What if an artist had been part of their development team?

Artists on the Team

At Bream, our team is multi-disciplinary and multi-generational. We are artists, designers, thinkers, inventors, and technologists. We bring our diversity of skills and backgrounds together to create art-full technology and build products that address contemporary issues.
