Description: This class is part 3 of a 4-class series, Intro to Abstract Art.

In the third class of this 4-part series on abstract art, we will be introduced to the notebook as a site of experimentation and exploration of art and life. Reviewing the concepts we learned in part 1 and 2, Chase will lead us in creative exercises in our notebooks while sharing ways artists historically have used notebooks in their practice. This is a great class for beginners as an introduction to abstract art.

During the class, Chase will reference a CBS Sunday Morning feature on artist Betye Saar. That clip can be viewed here: CBS Sunday Morning: Betye Saar

Teaching Artist: Chase R. McCurdy
